1 September 2016

Flu Drop in Clinic 2016

It's that time of year again where if you are eligible you can come down to the surgery and get your free flu vaccination.

We have arranged a drop in clinic for Saturday 8th October 8:00am - Noon.

The department of Health recommends flu vaccination if you are:

  • Pregnant
  • Aged 65 or over
  • A person with diabetes

Or if you have a long term condition of the:

  • Lungs e.g. Asthma or COPD
  • Heart
  • Brain or nervous system
  • Kidneys
  • Liver
  • Immune System
  • Spleen

A large amount of people believe that flu is just a bad cold, but it isn't - Flu can develop into more serious illnesses, such as bronchitis and pneumonia. These conditions could potentially lead to a stay in hospital or even death in some cases.

If you are in one of the groups listed above who are eligible for the vaccination but do not wish to receive it, then please contact the surgery and let us know.

Flu Vaccination is still the best option to protect you against flu so please come down to the surgery for the drop in Clinic on the 8th October.
