How To Find Us

Richmond Medical Centre was formed in 1985.  In 1992 the practice moved to a new purpose built building.  The Centre provides a warm, welcoming and comfortable environment for patients and staff.

The practice has approximately 7300 patients predominantly from Manor, Intake, Woodthorpe and Richmond but we also have patients in Frecheville, Stradbroke and Handsworth.

There are five partners who share a commitment to high quality and personal primary healthcare.  We have special interests in coronary heart disease, rheumatology, womens health, dermatology, diabetes and asthma.  As a training practice we work with GP registrars (qualified doctors training to be GP's) and also take part in the teaching of medical students from Sheffield Medical School.

The practice has been at the forefront of developing the role of the practice nurse and as such we have two nurse practitioners who are fully trained in the assessment of emergency cases, minor illness and childhood illnesses.  We also have two practice nurses.  All the nurses work along side the doctors having special responsibility for chronic disease management, screening, prevention and the running of various clinics.

Attached staff include health visitors, district nurses, midwife, counsellor, mental health workers, physiotherapist and chiropodist with whom the Practice works closely.

In addition to the usual antenatal, immunisation and child health clinics we also run special sessions for chronic heart disease, hypertension, cryotherapy, asthma, diabetes and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

The reception and administration staff are an essential part of the Practice Team and without their efforts we would not be able to operate at the level we do.  They work hard to provide a friendly and efficient service to both patients and colleagues.
